Things To Do & See
Old Town Scottsdale
This cute little downtown area was a pleasure to tour through. A lot of boutique style shopping and several unique jewelry stores. Away from the shopping area was a spacious park area for hosting events, live music, and art showings.
Robert Indiana’s “Love” Sculpture
Located downtown Scottsdale near the Civic Center Library and City Hall. Robert Indiana designed this sculpture as a symbol of peace. In the 1950s he was known as a pop art influencer and the word “Love” was a major focus in his art work.
Rectitude is never surmounted, Love is never outgrown. -Ralph Waldo Emerson
TPC Scottsdale-The Stadium Course
A 36-hole golf complex opened in 1968. Significant for the fact it is part of the Tournament Players Club, which is operated by the PGA Tour. One noteworthy fact is that Tiger Woods once played on this course and scored an ace (hole in one) in 1997.
Prickly Pear Cactus
Outside of my resort was this beautiful cactus with a flower, aka the Prickly Pear Cactus Flower. Most of Scottsdale was rather plain, just your typical desert scenery. But this little gem of a plant was a beautiful find.
