What is health?
Health is by definition “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” (World Health Organization).
How do I make sure I maintain complete physical, mental, and social well-being?
Here are my daily and weekly healthy lifestyle habits.
GO OUTSIDE AND MOVE YOUR BODY
The best way to start improving your health is to prioritize being outside moving your body rather than inside sitting on the couch. When I spend time outside doing something active I feel so alive and so motivated in life. The blood courses through your veins and reminds you that you are here for a reason. That feeling is empowering and the more you experience that feeling the more you want to live a better life.
You can simply walk around your neighbor for 15 minutes. Soak in the sunshine and breathe in the fresh air. Give it a try and see how that makes you feel. You can also learn basic yoga movements to try as well. Posted below are 2 basic yoga postures: Triangle Pose and Warrior 2.
Schedule at least 20 minutes of high intensity aerobic exercise 2-3x a week.
One of my favorite forms of high intensity aerobic exercise is the jump rope. I like it because I can literally do this exercise anywhere so it’s very convenient. In addition, when I have my music blasting it feels like my own little party going on inside my head rather than an intense and dreadful workout.
MAKE TIME FOR A HOBBY THAT KEEPS YOU ACTIVE
I make time to hike every week because it keeps me active and gets me outside. It also feels like an adventure and adventures are simply good for the soul. I highly recommend hiking at El Moro Canyon in Crystal Cove, California. The views are amazing, total eyegasms.
Just Chill, Bruh
Literally do nothing at least 1 day a week. Just chill. A healthy lifestyle routines definitely requires a day of rest and relaxation. My favorite way to rest and relax is to lay out by the beach.
Spend time with family and friends
Love and laughter is the best medicine for a healthy mind and soul. Make time to see the people in your life that make you laugh and feel loved.
